Suru/Bagudu Stakeholders Storm Abuja, Back Malami Project 2027

Hon. Abubakar D. Zagga on Friday led a powerful delegation of Suru/Bagudu local government stakeholders on a courtesy visit to former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), at his Abuja office.

The delegation commiserated with Malami over the violent attack on his convoy in Kebbi State on September 1, allegedly carried out by suspected APC thugs. They condemned the incident in strong terms, describing it as a desperate attempt to silence a rising political force whose popularity is unsettling the ruling party in the state.

Speaking during the visit, Hon. Zagga reaffirmed the group’s commitment to the “Malami Project 2027,” stressing that Kebbi people were ready to rally behind Malami to rescue the state from what they described as years of APC misgovernance.

“We came here to stand solidly with Malami at this critical moment. Kebbi deserves good governance, and 2027 is the turning point. The people of Suru and Bagudu are fully behind him,” Zagga declared.

In his response, Malami expressed deep gratitude to the delegation for their solidarity and courage. He described the September 1 attack as “an act of desperation by a drowning political class” and assured that no amount of intimidation would deter his vision for a new Kebbi.

“I am humbled by your show of support. What happened in Kebbi was unfortunate, but it only proves that our message is resonating. 2027 is not about me, it is about the future of our children and the dignity of our people. Together, we will rescue Kebbi from misrule and give our people the leadership they truly deserve,” Malami said.

Other notable figures in the delegation included Alhaji Bashir Garba Illo, Idris Musa, Hon. Yusuf Usman Suru, Hon. Buhari Nuhu Mohammed, Haruna Umar Maikwari and Hon. Faruk Ibrahim Illo.

Their solidarity visit adds to the growing wave of political support for Malami, who recently defected from the APC to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of his widely anticipated governorship bid.
