Former Customs Boss Yusuf Balarabe Visits Malami, Declares Support for ADC and 2027 Project

Abuja, Friday — Former Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Alhaji Yusuf Balarabe (popularly known as A.M Shayau), today paid a courtesy visit to former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), at his Abuja office.

During the visit, Alhaji Balarabe pledged his unalloyed support to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Malami 2027 Project, a political movement gaining momentum ahead of the next general elections.

He was accompanied by his son, Kabir Yusuf Argungu, who is also the founder of the Malami Pressure Group (MPG) — a grassroots mobilization platform dedicated to advancing Malami’s political aspirations as the 2027 race begins to take shape.

Speaking after the meeting, Alhaji Balarabe said his decision to back Malami was based on conviction and trust.

“Abubakar Malami has proven himself as a patriotic Nigerian with a clear vision for the future of this country. His integrity, courage, and consistency stand him out as a leader who can be trusted. I am pledging my total support to the ADC and the Malami Project as we prepare for 2027,” he said.

In his remarks, Kabir Yusuf Argungu reaffirmed his commitment through the Malami Pressure Group to rally grassroots support nationwide.

“We established the Malami Pressure Group to give structure to this vision. Our goal is to mobilize Nigerians from all walks of life to support Malami’s 2027 project. We believe he represents the hope of a new political order that places people first,” Kabir stated.

Political observers note that the visit further strengthens Malami’s rising influence within the ADC and signals increasing alignment from political heavyweights and stakeholders, especially from the North-West region.

Alhaji Balarabe’s endorsement is considered significant, given his vast experience in public service and his wide network across political and business circles.

With more high-profile figures rallying around Malami, the ADC is gradually positioning itself as a formidable contender in the 2027 general elections.
