Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami SAN, on Monday led a delegation on a series of condolence visits to bereaved families in Sokoto State, where prayers were offered for the repose of the souls of the deceased and words of comfort extended to their loved ones.
The delegation first visited the family of the late former Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Khalil Aliyu, the Matawallen Yauri, who passed away last week. Malami expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family and prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and strengthen the family to bear the loss.
Malami, who was accompanied by his deputy governorship candidate, Dr. Musa Zagi Madaki Kabi, also paid a condolence visit to the residence of the late Alhaji Alhaji Sardaunan Sokoto, who died on Thursday. During the visit, the delegation offered prayers for the deceased and encouraged the family to remain steadfast in faith, noting that death is an inevitable part of life and urging them to take solace in the legacy left behind by the deceased.
The delegation thereafter visited the home of Muhammad Saidu Sifawa to sympathize with him over the passing of his wife, Hajiya Aisha Muhammad Sifawa. Malami prayed for Allah's mercy upon the deceased and asked the Almighty to grant the family the patience and strength to overcome the difficult period.
Speaking during the visits, Malami described the loss of loved ones as painful not only to immediate families but also to society, urging the bereaved to remain prayerful and draw comfort from the teachings of Islam on patience and submission to the will of Allah.
Members of the delegation included Shehu Muhammad Koko, the Wamban Koko; former Member of the House of Representatives for Argungu/Augie Federal Constituency; Faruku Ed Gwandu; and Hon. A.B. Sabo.
The condolence visits reflected Malami's continued engagement with communities during moments of grief, as he joined the families in mourning and prayed for Allah to grant all the departed eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
