The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, on Tuesday led a massive mega rally in Iwo, Osun State, in a renewed drive to mobilise support for the party's governorship candidate ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
The rally attracted a large turnout of party leaders, members, supporters and residents, who gathered to welcome the former Osun State Governor and demonstrate their support for the ADC ahead of the crucial poll.
Speaking at the event, Aregbesola expressed appreciation to the people of Iwo for the overwhelming reception, describing the turnout as a clear indication of the growing momentum behind the ADC's governorship campaign.
He urged party faithful to remain united and committed as they work towards the election of the party's governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Dr. Najeem Folasayo Salaam, popularly known as Iwaloye, and his running mate.
The ADC National Secretary maintained that the party was optimistic of securing victory at the August 15 governorship election, stressing that the enthusiasm displayed by supporters across the state reflected the people's desire for a new direction.
The rally concluded with party supporters chanting the ADC slogan, "Arise and Shine," as campaign activities continue across Osun State ahead of the governorship election.
