The Federal Government has approved the 2027 Hajj fares for Nigerian pilgrims, with payments ranging from ₦7.56 million to ₦7.88 million, depending on the pilgrims’ departure zones.
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), in a public notice dated August 14, 2026, said the approved fares were determined in line with the principles of transparency and cost-efficiency, as well as the Federal Government’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims.
According to NAHCON, the fares were arrived at after consultations with the leadership of the Forum of State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, key service providers in Saudi Arabia, and consideration of prevailing exchange rates and service costs.
The approved 2027 Hajj fares are as follows:
- Maiduguri/Yola Zone: ₦7,560,822
- Northern Zone: ₦7,672,822
- Southern Zone: ₦7,882,822
NAHCON also announced that intending pilgrims who had previously deposited ₦5 million are required to pay the outstanding balance to complete their registration.
The Commission advised new registrants to make payments through their respective State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, agencies or commissions, or through any approved Hajj Savings Scheme (HSS) participating bank.
The announcement also comes with strict deadlines for intending pilgrims preparing for the 2027 pilgrimage.
NAHCON said September 26, 2026, has been fixed as the final and absolute deadline for the complete upload of intending pilgrims’ biometric data on the designated Nusuk-Masar digital platform, in compliance with the policy of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
It further stated that the remittance of all 2027 Hajj fares by the states must be completed by December 2, 2026.
According to the Commission, no extension will be granted beyond the deadline, as data synchronisation and seat allocations depend entirely on timely remittances.
NAHCON warned that failure to meet the stipulated deadlines would result in the forfeiture of allocated Hajj slots.
The Commission urged intending pilgrims, state pilgrims’ welfare authorities and other stakeholders to take the deadlines seriously to avoid losing their allocated slots for the 2027 Hajj.
The announcement sets the financial and administrative framework for Nigerians intending to undertake the 2027 pilgrimage to the holy land, while placing emphasis on timely payments, biometric registration and compliance with Saudi Arabia’s digital processing requirements.
