Again, APC Thugs Attack Malami’s Team At Kebbi Wedding

Barely weeks after a similar incident, suspected political thugs believed to be loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC) once again assaulted the former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, and his team in Argungu, Kebbi State.

The latest attack occurred on Friday, October 3, 2025, during the wedding ceremony of the daughter of Abdullahi Hassan Tsamiya, held at Sabon Garin Kanta in Argungu.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that the situation turned chaotic shortly after the wedding fatiha, when Malami entered a nearby mosque to offer prayers. Suddenly, armed thugs emerged from different directions, brandishing dangerous weapons and making inciting statements, apparently targeting the former minister and his aides.

According to credible sources close to Malami, the former AGF had earlier cautioned his entourage and supporters before travelling for the event, warning them not to engage in any form of provocation and deliberately reduced his usual large convoy to avoid unnecessary confrontation.

> “If not for that precaution, the consequences could have been disastrous,” a source familiar with the incident said.

In a brief statement following the attack, Malami condemned the act of violence and reaffirmed his belief in due process and the rule of law. He assured his supporters that he would pursue all legal avenues to ensure that justice is served, adding that he has full confidence in the capacity of Nigeria’s security agencies and the judiciary to uncover those behind the recurring assaults.

The incident has once again raised questions about the growing culture of political thuggery in Kebbi State and the repeated targeting of high-profile figures, especially those perceived to hold differing political views.
