The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kebbi State Chapter, has demanded that the state government provide a clear and verifiable explanation regarding an alleged ₦20 billion transfer made through Bureau de Change operators, as recently claimed by the Malami Support Organization (MSO).
In a statement issued on Monday, the ADC described the allegation as “too serious to be ignored,” stressing that the people of Kebbi deserve to know the truth about the source, purpose, and disbursement of the said funds.
“Public funds are a sacred trust, not private discretion,” the ADC stated. “The longer the government remains silent, the deeper the crisis of confidence it creates.”
The party called on the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to launch independent investigations into the matter. It also urged the Kebbi State House of Assembly to initiate a legislative probe to uncover the facts behind the alleged transactions.
While commending the Malami Support Organization for what it described as “civic courage and responsible citizenship,” the ADC emphasized that “accountability is the lifeblood of democracy, and truth should never be punished for being spoken.”
The party gave the Kebbi State Government a seven-day ultimatum to issue a detailed public explanation on the matter, insisting that “the integrity of leadership is measured not by power, but by the courage to be transparent.”
