In a landmark disengagement ceremony, the Nigerian Armed Forces has retired 542 senior non-commissioned officers following 35 years of meritorious service to the nation. The event took place at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, Lagos.
The breakdown of the retirees includes 362 personnel from the Nigerian Army, 134 from the Navy, and 46 from the Air Force.
The ceremony was marked by tributes from top military officials who commended the retirees for their loyalty, discipline, and unwavering commitment to national security. The Commandant of NAFRC emphasized that the Centre remains committed to equipping retiring personnel with skills necessary for civilian life.
As part of the reintegration process, all retirees underwent comprehensive training in various vocational skills and were presented with discharge certificates to aid their transition.
The Armed Forces resettlement program continues to evolve as part of broader efforts to ensure veterans are supported beyond their active service years.
