Birnin Kebbi Youth Leader Urges Malami to Join 2027 Guber Race

A prominent youth leader from Birnin Kebbi Local Government, Alhaji Umar Galma Kokani, has called on former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Dr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, to declare his interest in contesting the 2027 governorship election in Kebbi State.

Alhaji Kokani, who serves as the youth leader of the Kokani community, made this call during a solidarity visit to Malami’s private office in Abuja earlier today. He said the youths of Birnin Kebbi and surrounding areas believe Malami possesses the rare combination of intellect, patriotism, and leadership needed to reposition Kebbi for sustainable growth.

> “We need a visionary leader who has served the nation and understands the complexities of governance. Malami is one of our finest sons, and we are ready to stand with him,” Kokani stated passionately.

According to him, Malami’s tenure as Minister of Justice brought dignity and international respect to Nigeria’s legal system. He pointed out that Kebbi deserves such competence and credibility in its next leader, especially in a time when the youth are seeking inclusion, empowerment, and security.

Kokani said the youths of Birnin Kebbi have begun grassroots mobilization, and that the call for Malami to contest is not just a political move, but a sincere desire for generational progress and economic transformation.

He added,

> “We are tired of recycled leaders. We want someone who can inspire a new vision and build on solid foundations. Malami has the national reach and the local acceptance. He is our best bet.”

Though Malami has yet to announce his candidacy, the increasing support from youth leaders like Alhaji Umar Galma Kokani signals a growing shift in Kebbi’s political terrain. With the youth making up the majority of the electorate, such endorsements could prove decisive in the build-up to 2027.
