The Edo State PDP is relentlessly building an invincible political entourage for the journey to win the 2024 gubernatorial election by having veteran politicians of substance. As we know Edo state is made up of three senatorial districts namely; Edo south, Edo north and Edo central. Therefore, "The first responsibility of a true leader is to identify and define reality, the last is to say thank you. But in between these two the leader must become a servant and a debtor... "
As the most popular and structural Political Party PDP known in the whole of Africa with the true ideal of democracy who consider a gender sensitive Leadership as their priority unlike other Parties, alot of political watchers believes that balancing both the Male and Female Aspirant's candidacy is the best way to capture the votes of Edo women who constitutes the majority of voters during electioneering season. Facts check having that, Approximately 1.152,325 million Edo men has voters card and over 1,051,209 women are with their voters card , these set of people makes the decision on who governs them.
During the last Edo State 2020 Governorship election, the winning margin for the three (3) region were; Edo North had 22, 508, Edo Central had 25, 340 and Edo South which always comes up with a block votes had 81,504. This indicate that both the three regions none can match Edo South Senatorial district in terms of votes from that zone. This suggests that if the PDP Picks Deputy Governor from Edo South, winning Governorship under PDP will be more easy and is the best choice in a right direction for all patriotic Edo people.
I have had the opportunity to sample opinions of the opposition in Edo State and they're all gearing up to fight Asue Ighodalo in the coming polls.
No opposition talks about the others. In as much that the primaries haven't been conducted, this is the reality on ground.
Now coming back to PDP again with a big question, let's assume Asue emerges.
WHO WOULD DEPUTIZE HIM?
This question is very crucial. And the PDP needs to dissect and binocularize to get it right.
" The last resort of the incompetent is violence"
In coming days we will begin to see more of the manifestations of the incompetent ones as it has already begun.
In conclusion, the PDP still has a chance, if it continues to properly uses its thinking cap, to look into the possibility of slotting the deputy governor seat in Edo South by picking a strong and influential politician with many political credentials to steer them to winning the gubernatorial election this year 2024. Lastly, Scripturally, let's ponder on this few verses, "And those whose tongue rises up in judgment against the innocent, shall surely be condemned Isaiah 54:17.
The Bible also says, "He that dig a pit shall fall into it, and he who breaks a hedge, a serpent shall bite him" Ecclesiastes 10:8. These acts and prophecy normally came to fulfilment in the political arena.
