Who Gets What in Betta Edu's 3 Billion Naira Alleged Heist?

By Mohammed Bello Doka

In a startling revelation, New Planet Project Limited, owned by Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, registered on March 3, 2009 (registration number 804833), secured a staggering N438.1 million contract as a consultant for the dubious National Social Register. This contract aimed to verify 11 million homes across Nigeria within a mere month.

Further investigations expose other beneficiaries of this questionable N3 billion contract. Fabunmi Olanipeku & Co, an Accounting Firm (registration number 2524198, registered on July 31, 2017), allegedly linked to Wole Olanipekun, an APC Attorney, received N419.5 million. Vintsolve Global Consult, lacking registration records and ownership details, acquired N558.8 million.

Additional companies that profited from the N3 billion contract include: Blue Trend Enterprise (N277.8 million), with no trace of registration and an unidentified owner; Periscope Consulting (N277 million), registered on July 24, 2012 (registration number 1053019), owned by Ngozi Maureen Ojiego known for Interior Decoration; Laitop Dynamics Interlink Services Ltd (N277 million), registered on June 6, 2016 (registration number 1340092), owned by Quburat Bolanle Bolanta; Memak Nigeria Limited (N277 million), with no known ownership or registration date; MC Van Management Consult Limited (N275.8 million), lacking registration records; and Danzinger Nigeria Limited (N275.8 million), registered on Sep 23, 2005 (registration number 635448), owned by Oladapo Rotimi Mohammed.

Alarmingly, all contractors claim to have verified 11 million homes in Nigeria within just one month, raising serious questions about the authenticity of these transactions and the purported social register verification.
