An alarming incident unfolded in Lagos as Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Luka Bashayi, stationed at Ogudu Area Command, was caught on camera demanding a N10,000 bribe from a motorist. The incriminating video, widely shared online, prompted swift responses from State and Force spokesmen, SP Benjamin Hundeyin and ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who assured that the matter would not be overlooked.

The footage captured ASP Bashayi disclosing an Access Bank account number and instructing the driver to transfer N10,000 promptly to avoid police station involvement. Although the reason for the demand remains unclear, the exchange between the officer and the motorist raised eyebrows. The officer was heard saying, “make am N10,000, sharp sharp and go now,” to which the driver responded, “I no get.”

The video circulated on social media platforms, with users sarcastically praising the officer's supposed diligence. SP Hundeyin identified the officer as ASP Luka Bashayi from Ogudu Area Command and assured the public that actions were being taken through the @Lagos_PoliceCRU.

Expressing disdain, ACP Adejobi condemned the incident, declaring it shameful and promising to uncover more details about the officer's actions. As the controversy unfolds, citizens await further updates on the investigation.
