Apparently the PDP is on top of this game and in total control of the banking system either directly or by proxy. Yesterday tongues were left wagging after a sharing spree that left residence wondering amidst this Naira scarcity.
It was a sight to behold yesterday at Lugbe Primary School along airport road Abuja municipal area council in the FCT when a female PDP chieftain shared a whooping 150,000 to each executive member of the ward and a select party stakeholders in the ward for what they called mobilisation allowance.
We also learnt that some money has been disbursed to the same people few weeks ago but the amount wasn't disclosed or the types of notes.
Yesterday's sharing spree caught the attention of people due to commotion caused by POS operators who were trying to buy the notes from the beneficiaries. Some said they were buying 100,000 for 110,000 some are willing to pay as high as 115,000 for 100,000 because they were charging customers who rush the cash 300 Naira for each 1000 naira withdrawn.
We could not specifically identified who shared the money but ANN noticed the presence of some known PDP faces in the meeting which include former and current councillors of the ward Messrs Ibrahim Jankaro and Hon. Helen Ndago, former and current party chairmen, amongst other stakeholders.
Residence were left wondering afterwards as to who have such money amidst this scarcity to share 150,000 each to almost 50 people in a single ward, one can only wonder the total amount spent and the source of the money.
Words of mouth by some of the witnesses and the beneficiaries quoted one of the leaders of the party in the ward boosting that "we will match them dollar to dollar Naira to Naira and we will outspend them they never see anything. "
