According to reports the President has appealed to Nigerians and sympathies with them over the hardship experienced as a result of the ill-timed, ill-prepared cash swap exercise of the Central bank of Nigeria. He also seek for seven days to write the wrongs.
Similarly the Presidency through Mr. Ajuri Ngelale a senior special assistant to the President told Nigerians on a national TV that while briefing the President the CBN governor has deliberately misled the number one citizen with the claim that the apex bank has printed enough new Naira notes to ensure the smooth running of the exercise which the presidency later found to be false.
Likewise the Kaduna state governor while speaking to newsmen in different media reiterates that the CBN has mopped up over N2 trillion of the old notes only to print a paltry sum of N300 billion of the new note for the swap.
A prima facie case of deliberately misleading the President and the public has already been established against Mr. Emefile which is tantamount to sabotage and economics terrorism against the state. Because that singular act has caused unnecessary hardship to Nigerians leading to lost of lives and properties.
Thus Mr. Emefile has no business advising the President going forward, he has an integrity question against his person, he has lied to us and he will lie again if given the chance. Any serious government will put necessary measures on ground to avoid the reoccurance of such dastardly act. Thus Mr. Emefile should be sanctioned to prove that Mr. President is for everybody and for nobody.
People must know that they will be held accountable for their actions and inactions to serve as deterrents to others only then will peace reign in a lawless society like ours.
