Accuses Remi Tinubu of Host!l!ty Toward Northern Muslims

Prominent public commentator Mahdi Shehu has launched a scathing criticism of Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, accusing her of hostility toward Northern Muslims following remarks allegedly linked to U.S. military actions in parts of Northern Nigeria.

Shehu’s comments, widely circulated across media platforms, were made in reaction to statements attributed to the First Lady in which she was said to have praised U.S. military strikes. In a strongly worded response, Shehu alleged that such remarks reflected insensitivity to the suffering of communities affected by violence and insecurity in the region.

According to him, the alleged comments suggest a lack of empathy toward Muslim populations in the North, particularly victims of bombings and military operations. He further accused the First Lady of showing no remorse over the loss of lives and destruction of communities predominantly inhabited by Muslims.

The controversial statement attributed to Shehu referenced former U.S. President Donald Trump, implying that continued foreign military action would serve the personal comfort of the First Lady rather than the interests of affected Nigerians.

The remarks have sparked heated reactions online, deepening debates around religion, security operations, and political rhetoric in Nigeria. As of the time of filing this report, the Presidency and the Office of the First Lady have not issued an official response to Shehu’s accusations.
