A former member of House of Representatives who represented Ife Federal Constituency, Hon. Rotimi Makinde has congratulated Hon. Bola Oyebamiji for emerging as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State after a successful primary which held on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
Makinde, in a congratulatory message issued few hours after the electoral process described the outcome of the election as veritable vehicle that will drive the party into a landslide victory in 2026.
He said Oyebamij’s emergence is well deserved and a clear manifestation that the All Progressives Congress remains the party of choice for Nigerians at the local, state, and federal levels.
The Ife born politician also saluted the APC stakeholders in Osun State who contributed to the success of the primary by defying all odds and made party supremacy above all other interests.
“I sincerely appreciate the leader of our party, President Bola Tinubu GCFR, Vice President Kashim Shettima; APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda; my colleagues, and other APC leaders who are directly or indirectly involved in the history that was made today under a peaceful, transparent and credible atmosphere that is all inclusive without discrimination. The emergency of Hon. Bola Oyebamiji "AMBO"is destined by God and thankfully Osun Stakeholders and great leaders of our party across board keyed into it, this is highly commendable and appreciated.
“I also extend my appreciation to all our political gladiators in APC, most especially Senator Iyiola Omisore for standing in the interest of the party and throwing his weight behind "AMBO" as party's consensus candidate ahead 2026 guber poll without bitterness or resentment. It is also worthy to thank God for making His mercy prevail and also to be appreciated is the Agba Osun caucus, the leadership of our party in Osun State as well as our overall leader, His Excellency, Chief Bisi Akande and His Excellency Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola. These leaders have demonstrated their love and patriotism for the party which no doubt will usher in landslide victory for APC in 2026.
“As a party we have just completed first leg of our task, this is the time for us to unite, as the bigger contest is ahead of us, we must begin our work in earnest to ensure victory for our dear party and to rekindle hope in the people of Osun State. I am also making passionate appeal to all the aspirants and their supporters to close ranks and see today as victory for we all, no one has lost out, and what should be paramount is the victory for our party which will be beneficial to us all and the good people of Osun State. Once again I say congratulations to our most favoured "AMBO" and I wish him victory at the poll as our party standard bearer in 2026 Osun State gubernatorial election,” Makinde said.
