At the two-day national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan, Oyo State, the party moved decisively to expel a major faction of key members over alleged anti-party activities.

The motion for their expulsion was reportedly moved by founding member Chief Bode George and seconded by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed.
The party explained that the decision is aimed at restoring “unity, discipline and focus” ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing persistent divisions and anti-party conduct.
