The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has officially opened its student loan application portal for the 2025/2026 academic session, offering much-needed financial support to students across the country. The portal will be accessible from Thursday, October 23, 2025, to Saturday, January 31, 2026.
According to NELFUND, both returning and newly admitted students of accredited tertiary institutions in Nigeria are eligible to apply. Fresh students can apply using their Admission Number or JAMB Registration Number, while institutions are encouraged to provide temporary registration measures for students awaiting loan disbursement to ensure no one is denied access to education due to financial constraints.
Tertiary institutions are also required to update and upload verified student records on the NELFUND Student Verification Portal, a crucial step that guarantees students can successfully apply and benefit from the loan scheme.
