Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has met with a delegation from Ipren Global Limited led by its Chief Executive Officer, Chafi Sani Lawal, to deliberate on an ambitious proposal aimed at training 1,500 youths from Kebbi State in modern agricultural practices.
The proposal, presented during the meeting, seeks to empower young people with cutting-edge skills in agritech, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and vocational training, while also introducing innovative technologies that would transform the agricultural landscape in the state.
According to Chafi Sani Lawal, Chief Executive Officer of Ipren Global Limited, the company is committed to innovation, community development, and sustainable growth. He said one of the major components of the proposal is the Smart’o Device Initiative, a solar-powered irrigation and water management device that enables farmers to remotely monitor and control their farming systems via mobile applications. The device reduces costs, enhances efficiency, and boosts productivity.
Chafi Sani Lawal explained that the training of 1,500 Kebbi indigenes will combine the use of Smart’o devices with practical agricultural skills, thereby equipping the next generation with tools to drive food security, job creation, and sustainable economic growth.
The proposal also includes leadership and mentorship programs, business incubation opportunities, and technical support for young farmers to thrive in a competitive market.
Malami assured the group of his readiness to support partnerships that align with the aspirations of Kebbi youths and contribute to the state’s long-term development agenda.
The meeting is expected to pave the way for concrete collaborations that will not only modernize agriculture in Kebbi but also serve as a model for youth-driven agritech initiatives across the country.
