Ebonyi Police Arrest 131 Suspects, Recover Firearms and Vehicles

The Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested no fewer than 131 suspects linked to kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, and murder between July and mid-August 2025.

Commissioner of Police, Adaku Uche-Anya, who disclosed this in Abakaliki, said the command also recovered six vehicles, 15 firearms, and 50 rounds of ammunition during the operations. She noted that 52 of the arrested suspects have already been charged to court, while investigations are ongoing for others.

According to her, the command also rescued kidnapped victims, dismantled several criminal hideouts, and successfully averted communal clashes in different parts of the state.

The Police Commissioner reiterated the commitment of the command to intensify security patrols and sustain its fight against violent crimes. She called on residents to support the police with timely information to help track criminal elements across Ebonyi State.
