In a dramatic turn of events, sixty-two kidnapped victims have regained their freedom after the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) bombarded the camp of notorious bandit leader, Muhammadu Fulani, in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The raid, which took place on Saturday, forced the armed criminals to flee in disarray, creating an opportunity for the captives to escape. According to the Katsina State Commissioner for Internal Security, Dr. Nasir Mu’azu, the swift military intervention was instrumental in saving dozens of lives.
“Twelve of the victims are currently receiving medical treatment, while others are being taken care of under strict military protection,” Mu’azu confirmed.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, while commending the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies, described the operation as a bold step in the ongoing war against banditry. He assured residents that his administration remains fully committed to sustaining security operations until criminal elements are permanently dismantled across the state.
The successful rescue has been hailed as a major breakthrough in Katsina’s fight against violent kidnappings that have plagued the state in recent years, restoring a glimmer of hope for affected communities.
