In a decisive military operation under Operation Fasin Yamma, Nigerian troops successfully neutralized eight terrorists along the Kurfi–Batsari Road in Katsina State, reaffirming the military’s commitment to restoring peace and security in the region.
The operation, carried out with precision and courage, led to the recovery of five AK-47 rifles, magazines loaded with ammunition, and other dangerous weapons from the insurgents. One soldier sustained injuries during the encounter and is currently receiving medical attention.
In a statement released by the Defence Headquarters, the military high command commended the troops for their gallantry and professionalism in the face of danger. “Our forces remain resolute in their mission to dismantle criminal elements and restore normalcy in the North-West,” the statement read.
The Defence Headquarters also assured Nigerians that clearance operations and intelligence-led patrols would continue across key flashpoints, adding that there would be no safe haven for terrorists operating within the country’s borders.
