In a major breakthrough against criminal elements, police operatives have successfully rescued 23 kidnap victims and neutralized one suspect in coordinated operations across Niger and Enugu States.
The daring rescue missions, which were carried out in forest hideouts notorious for harboring criminal gangs, followed recent waves of abductions that had gripped several communities with fear. The operations, marked by intense gun battles, led to the safe recovery of all abducted individuals, who have since been reunited with their families.
In Niger State, the police team stormed a suspected hideout after credible intelligence and engaged the kidnappers in a fierce exchange of gunfire. One suspect was gunned down during the operation, while others fled into the forest with injuries. Similarly, in Enugu State, tactical teams executed a precise raid that led to the freedom of multiple victims without casualties among the security operatives.
Spokespersons from both state commands commended the bravery of the officers and reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to rid the country of kidnappers and restore peace and security. “We will not relent until every criminal behind these dastardly acts is brought to justice,” one official said.
Manhunts for the fleeing suspects are ongoing, with reinforcements dispatched to comb the surrounding areas. Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest security agency.
