Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), on Wednesday hosted a high-level meeting with former Director of Finance and Accounts at the Federal Ministry of Defence, Alhaji Ibrahim Gwaggo, at his private office in Abuja.
The meeting, which also had in attendance Nasir Ismail Doka and other associates, focused on critical national issues including the state of the nation, the future of the North, and pathways to sustainable nation building.
Alhaji Ibrahim Gwaggo, a respected technocrat and professional from Zamfara State, is known for his vast knowledge of public finance management and the inner workings of government. His visit to Malami underscores the importance of strategic consultations among Northern elites as Nigeria continues to navigate pressing economic and political challenges.
Speaking after the meeting, Gwaggo noted that the discussion was both timely and productive, highlighting the need for collaboration among patriotic Nigerians to address the nation’s current realities.
“We discussed pressing matters concerning our nation, particularly the need for unity, economic revival, and the political direction of the country. As professionals and stakeholders, we believe it is time to prioritize dialogue and purposeful leadership,” Gwaggo stated.
In his remarks, Malami welcomed the engagement, describing it as part of the necessary steps toward building consensus for national progress. He praised Gwaggo’s distinguished career in public service and his continued commitment to the growth of the country.
“Ibrahim Gwaggo is a seasoned administrator with a deep understanding of governance. His visit today reflects the kind of forward-thinking partnership we need to strengthen national unity and drive development, especially in the North,” Malami said.
Nasir Ismail Doka, who was also present at the meeting, emphasized the importance of experience-driven consultations, noting that Nigeria needs more voices of wisdom and experience at the table in shaping the future.
The meeting, which lasted several hours, is one in a series of strategic engagements being held among Northern leaders and technocrats aimed at fostering unity, addressing insecurity, and creating a common vision for regional and national advancement.
