President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has felicitated with former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, on his 65th birthday, commending his contributions to Nigeria’s democracy, governance, and party politics.
In a statement released on Sunday by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised El-Rufai as a resourceful administrator, distinguished scholar, and astute politician. He highlighted the former governor’s role in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape, particularly his contributions to the formation and success of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“El-Rufai played a key role in the dialogues that led to the formation of the APC and contributed immensely to the party’s victories in the 2015, 2019, and 2023 elections,” the statement read.
Beyond politics, Tinubu acknowledged El-Rufai’s commitment to mentorship, nation-building, and public service. He lauded the former governor’s efforts in governance reforms and infrastructural development, particularly during his tenure in Kaduna State, where he introduced bold policies that reshaped the state’s economy and urban landscape.
“President Tinubu wishes El-Rufai good health and strength for continuous service to the nation,” the statement concluded.
As El-Rufai marks this milestone, tributes continue to pour in from political associates, admirers, and well-wishers, celebrating his legacy and influence in Nigeria’s political and developmental spheres.
