Global Outrage as Trump’s Gaza Land Grab Plan Faces Rejection

U.S. President Donald Trump’s controversial proposal to take control of the Gaza Strip and forcibly relocate its Palestinian residents has triggered a wave of global condemnation, with world leaders denouncing the plan as reckless, inhumane, and a blatant attempt at land grabbing.

Saudi Arabia led the charge against the proposal, categorically rejecting any scheme to displace Palestinians. The Kingdom reaffirmed its unwavering support for a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, declaring that its stance is “non-negotiable and not subject to compromise.”

Other Arab nations, including Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, also voiced their opposition, warning that forced displacement could plunge the region into further chaos. In a joint letter to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, these nations insisted that Palestinians must lead Gaza’s reconstruction, not foreign powers seeking to reshape the territory for their own interests.

China added its voice to the rebuke, firmly opposing Trump’s vision and emphasizing that “Palestinians should govern Palestine.” Australia and New Zealand reiterated their commitment to a two-state solution, indirectly dismissing the U.S. leader’s ambitions. Meanwhile, human rights organizations, including Amnesty International, condemned the proposal as a humanitarian crime and a thinly veiled act of ethnic cleansing.

Trump, alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, had announced the plan to relocate Gaza’s 2 million Palestinian residents to neighboring countries such as Egypt and Jordan, while transforming the Strip into the “Riviera of the Middle East.” Critics argue this is a thinly veiled attempt to erase Palestinian claims to their land, with Trump brazenly suggesting that the displaced population would never return.

The overwhelming global backlash signals that Trump’s vision of a U.S.-controlled Gaza is doomed to fail. The world has made it clear: Palestine is not for sale, and no amount of political maneuvering can justify the erasure of an entire people.
