The Director of Personnel Management (DPM) of Tarauni Local Government, Alhaji Abdulkadir Muhammad Arabu, and the Head of Department, Chief Personnel Officer (CPO) Suleiman Umar, have retired after 35 years of dedicated service in the civil service.
During a formal handover ceremony, Alhaji Abdulkadir transferred his responsibilities to the Local Government Treasurer, Comrade Bello Hassan Durimin Zungura. Similarly, Suleiman Umar handed over his role as Chief Personnel Officer to the Head of Staff, Nazifi Bello. In turn, Nazifi Bello passed on his position to Tijjani Muhammad Lawan, while Ahmed M. Ahmed assumed the treasurer’s role in an acting capacity.
The retiring DPM, Alhaji Abdulkadir, was commended for his exemplary service, commitment to development, and significant contributions to the growth and efficiency of Tarauni Local Government.
Speaking at the event held in the Chairman’s office, Alhaji Abdulkadir expressed his gratitude to the people of Tarauni and the local government staff for their unwavering support throughout his tenure. He sought forgiveness from anyone he may have wronged and extended his forgiveness to others, reflecting a spirit of humility and reconciliation.
In his address, Comrade Bello Hassan, the Acting DPM, pledged to revitalize the local government's activities. He called for cooperation from the staff and the Chairman to effectively deliver on the responsibilities entrusted to him.
The Chairman of Tarauni Local Government, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Muhammad Sekure, lauded the contributions of the outgoing officials. He acknowledged their dedication and the guidance they provided during his administration, which he said was instrumental in ensuring smooth operations within the council.
Alhaji Sekure also extended his best wishes to the newly appointed Acting DPM, Comrade Bello Hassan, assuring him of the council's full support in his interim role.
The retirement of Alhaji Abdulkadir Muhammad Arabu and Suleiman Umar marks the end of an era of distinguished service while ushering in a new chapter for Tarauni Local Government.
