Minimum Wage: JNPSNC Honors Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for Exemplary Leadership

The Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council (JNPSNC) has recognized Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his exemplary commitment to public servants’ welfare, particularly through the successful implementation of the consequential adjustment to the national minimum wage.

The prestigious award was presented on Monday by the Kano State Head of Civil Service, Abdullahi Musa, on behalf of the JNPSNC. This was disclosed in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Speaking during the ceremony, Abdullahi Musa praised Governor Yusuf’s exceptional leadership, emphasizing his dedication to improving the lives of workers despite challenging economic conditions.

“This award reflects the governor’s outstanding governance and unwavering commitment to ensuring public servants receive the benefits they rightfully deserve,” Musa stated.

In his acceptance speech, Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to fostering an environment that prioritizes workers’ welfare. He noted that the minimum wage adjustment remains a cornerstone of his vision for a just and prosperous Kano State.

“This honor is not solely for me but for the hardworking Kano State workforce whose dedication drives the success of our administration. We will continue to place their well-being at the forefront of our agenda,” Governor Yusuf declared.

He also called on other states yet to implement the minimum wage adjustment to follow Kano’s example, stressing that investing in workers is vital for sustainable development and enhanced productivity.

The award further cements Governor Yusuf’s reputation as a visionary leader committed to advancing Kano State and uplifting its citizens.
