Pastor Bolaji Idowu, the leader of Harvesters International Christian Centre (HICC), has clarified reports about his recent interaction with the Nigerian Police, stating that he was invited to assist in an investigation and was not arrested.

In a video message addressed to his congregation, which circulated on social media on Sunday, December 8, 2024, Pastor Idowu explained his involvement in a case concerning a church member accused of financial misconduct.

“This is from me to you: I was invited, not arrested,” he began. “I was invited by the Police to assist in an investigation involving a church member who had gotten into some trouble."

Pastor Idowu refrained from providing extensive details, emphasizing the sensitive nature of the case. He added:

“I would love to say more, but remember, this case is still under investigation, and it involves a person with a family—wives, children, and relatives. If I start mentioning names, as many of you might expect, it could ruin someone’s life."

He assured his congregation that he would allow the Police to handle the matter professionally. “I will let the Police do their job. Once my assistance is no longer needed, I will step aside.”

The video has since garnered mixed reactions online, with many expressing support for the pastor's transparent approach.
