The Federal Government has officially declared Wednesday, December 25, 2024; Thursday, December 26, 2024; and Wednesday, January 1, 2025, as public holidays to commemorate Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year celebrations. This announcement was made on Monday by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo, while conveying the government’s warm wishes to Nigerians, highlighted the significance of the festive season as a time for reflection, love, and unity. He urged citizens to embrace these values to foster national harmony, particularly in light of current socio-economic challenges.
"This season reminds us of the importance of togetherness, mutual respect, and goodwill. As we celebrate, let us remain committed to the ideals of peace and unity that bind us as a nation," the Minister remarked.
