Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (Northwest), has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for achieving the long-awaited operational commencement of the Port Harcourt Refinery.
In a statement released to the press, Yakasai described the refinery’s resumption as a groundbreaking development that underscores the President’s commitment to addressing Nigeria’s energy challenges and reducing reliance on imported petroleum products. He noted that the project’s success reflects the administration’s dedication to fulfilling its promises to the Nigerian people.
Yakasai also praised the bold economic reforms championed by President Tinubu, including the removal of fuel subsidies and exchange rate unification, as essential steps toward sustainable national growth. While acknowledging the current economic challenges faced by Nigerians, he urged citizens to remain patient and trust in the administration’s long-term vision.
“The Port Harcourt Refinery’s operations mark a major milestone in our journey to self-sufficiency in energy. This administration is committed to delivering lasting solutions, and I appeal to Nigerians to support these efforts as the benefits will soon be evident,” Yakasai said.
