Water Management: Pyramid Partner Presents Comprehensive Proposal to NIHSA

In a strategic move to enhance Nigeria's water resource management and disaster preparedness, Pyramid Partner, a leading global consultancy in water resource management, has unveiled a detailed proposal to the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA). This initiative aims to fortify the agency's capacity in the face of escalating challenges related to climate change, water conservation, and flood control.

During a recent meeting with NIHSA's leadership, Farouk Abdullahi, the lead consultant at Pyramid Partner, emphasized the proposal's goal of equipping NIHSA with the tools necessary to navigate the nation’s hydrological challenges. "Our vision is to ensure that NIHSA is fully equipped to effectively monitor, forecast, and manage water resources, mitigate flood risks, and promote sustainable water use practices," Abdullahi noted. He added that the project aims to drive public awareness and support informed policy-making, which is crucial for sustainable development.

Hydrological Forecasting & Flood Management: Upgrading early warning systems to strengthen disaster readiness.

Public Awareness & Education: Increasing outreach to inform communities about sustainable water use and flood risks.

Policy & Regulation Support: Assisting in drafting effective policies to support responsible water governance.

Disaster Response & Recovery: Boosting NIHSA's ability to respond promptly to hydrological disasters.

Data Management & Information Systems: Modernizing data management for real-time decision-making.

The Director General of NIHSA expressed optimism about the proposal, highlighting its potential to significantly improve the agency’s operational capabilities.
