In a bold move to enhance transparency and accountability within Nigeria's gaming industry, the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) has renewed its collaborative efforts with the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU). The partnership aims to drive meaningful impact across health, education, sports, environment, agriculture, and disaster management through the NLTF’s "Good Causes" initiatives, particularly in underserved rural areas.
During a recent visit to the NFIU Headquarters, Comrade Tosin Adeyanju, Executive Secretary of the NLTF, praised the NFIU’s pivotal role in supporting the trust fund's mission. “We are proud of what you are doing and how you have been supporting our organization. We are here to further solidify our relationship with your organization to help us sustain ongoing interventions,” Adeyanju remarked. Highlighting the broader societal impact, he added, “This partnership will also provide more opportunities to help those in rural areas. By working together, we aim to promote transparency, accountability, and sustainable development, ultimately uplifting the downtrodden communities.”
In response, NFIU Chief Executive Officer Hafsat Bakari expressed strong support for the NLTF's mission. “It is an honor and privilege to receive your team. What you have done in three months has justified your appointment. Your strategic plan is laudable and shows you are ready to work. We hope to continue our robust relationship with your organization so it can continue its Good Causes across Nigeria,” Bakari said. She reaffirmed NFIU’s commitment to providing critical intelligence and expertise, underscoring a shared goal to make a difference in the lives of those most in need.
This renewed alliance between the NLTF and NFIU underscores a shared vision of transparency and dedication to uplifting Nigeria’s communities through targeted, accountable interventions.
