In a significant show of diplomacy and encouragement, Tosin Adeyanju, the Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), visited the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris Malagi, to advocate for patience and understanding among Nigerian youths. Adeyanju's visit comes at a time when numerous groups are organizing nationwide protests to voice their dissatisfaction with the current administration.
During his visit, Adeyanju appealed directly to the youth, urging them to avoid engaging in demonstrations. Drawing from his own experiences as a former student leader and activist, he empathized with their frustrations but emphasized the importance of allowing President Tinubu's administration the time needed to enact and implement its policies effectively.
"I have stood on the front lines of protests before, and I deeply understand the challenges and concerns faced by our youth," Adeyanju remarked. "However, I implore you to exercise patience and give President Tinubu the opportunity to deliver on his promises. His intentions for Nigeria are genuinely positive, and I firmly believe that the policies he is working on will soon lead to meaningful improvements."
Adeyanju took the opportunity to commend President Tinubu for his inclusive approach in governance, noting that the current administration has appointed more young people to key positions than any previous administration since 1999. This, he said, reflects a strong commitment to empowering the younger generation and addressing their concerns.
Despite the growing momentum for protests, Adeyanju advocates for a more collaborative approach. He suggests that direct engagement and dialogue with the administration could yield better results than taking to the streets.
