Swift Response: Nigerian Army Repels Attack on Isheke Police Station

By Mo Hanif

In a swift and decisive operation, troops of the Nigerian Army successfully repelled an attack on the Isheke Police Station in Ebonyi State by suspected IPOB terrorists. The attackers had set fire to the station and several vehicles, but the timely arrival of the military thwarted their efforts.

The troops launched a counter-attack, compelling the terrorists to flee in disarray. This led to an intense gun battle, resulting in the elimination of five suspected terrorists and the capture of multiple weapons. Among the recovered items were a PKT Machine Gun with a link belt containing 94 rounds of ammunition, two AK-47 rifles with three magazines containing 11 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a Sub Machine Gun with a magazine, and a Sienna SUV with registration number Ebonyi CHR-364JC.

The Nigerian Army, in collaboration with other security agencies, remains committed to combating the activities of IPOB and its armed affiliate, the ESN. Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
