In a resolute display of commitment to peace and security in Taraba State, the troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army have executed a vital operation resulting in the neutralization of five violent extremists, the prevention of kidnapping attempts, and the recovery of a significant cache of arms and ammunition.

Acting swiftly on credible intelligence regarding an extremist plot to abduct church members returning from a service in Wukari along Tor-Tse and Takum road, the vigilant troops of 93 Battalion stationed in Wukari strategically intercepted the extremists in the early hours of April 2, 2024. Engaging the insurgents in a fierce firefight, the troops successfully neutralized four extremists and seized two AK-47 rifles, one Pump Action rifle, and two AK-47 magazines.

In another encounter on March 27, 2024, troops patrolling around Chanchanji Ward of Takum Local Government Area encountered suspected violent extremists. Responding with superior firepower, the troops eliminated one extremist and confiscated one locally fabricated FN Pistol, two rounds of 9mm ammunition, and a mobile phone belonging to the criminal.

This operation underscores the unwavering dedication of 6 Brigade to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens, fostering a safer environment for business activities. Citizens are urged to continue supporting the military by promptly reporting any suspicious movements or criminal activities within the state.
