Amidst political turbulence in Kano State, a faction of stakeholders from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) across the 19 Northern States, operating under the banner of Concerned NNPP Stakeholders, has issued a vote of no confidence against Governor Abba Yusuf. The decision, detailed in a communique released on Monday and co-signed by prominent figures including Hon. Attahiru Musa and Hon. Simon Pam, highlights deep-seated dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs within the party, particularly in Kano.
Expressing profound disappointment with the trajectory of the NNPP in Kano, the stakeholders lamented what they perceive as a stark departure from the party's founding principles. They assert that the party's leadership in the state has fallen short of expectations, drawing unfavorable comparisons to both the federal government and previous administrations.
Initially viewed as a beacon of hope and a catalyst for change, Governor Abba Yusuf was hailed as a transformative figure capable of navigating Kano through the challenges of governance. However, disillusionment has set in as the NNPP's performance in the state fails to live up to its lofty promises.
The stakeholders underscored the gravity of the situation, emphasizing that silence in the face of systemic failure is no longer an option. They lamented the lost opportunity for Kano to emerge as a model of exemplary governance and leadership, accusing the NNPP leadership of squandering the state's potential.
With this vote of no confidence, NNPP stakeholders are signaling their intention to hold the party accountable and demand tangible reforms. The communique serves as a poignant reminder of the urgency to address the prevailing issues and steer Kano State back on course towards progress and prosperity.
