IPOB Responds to Allegations, Says Northern Elders are Hypocrites

By Mohammed Bello Doka
In response to recent accusations leveled by the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued a statement through its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful. The statement addresses allegations of indiscriminate attacks against Northerners in the Eastern region and clarifies IPOB's stance on recent incidents.

While acknowledging responsibility for the recent attacks, IPOB emphasizes that their operations specifically targeted marauding Fulani terrorists who exploit pastoralism as a cover for terrorism. The movement highlights the peaceful coexistence of Nigerians of Northern extraction, including those of Fulani descent, within Eastern communities engaged in legitimate businesses without harassment.

IPOB reiterates that only terrorists who employ cattle to destroy crops, attack families, and impede agricultural activities were targeted during their operations. The movement asserts that such invading terrorists will remain legitimate targets for the Eastern Security Network (ESN) operatives until they allow peace for the civilian population of the East.

Moreover, IPOB accuses the NEF of hypocrisy and crisis instigation, alleging that the forum failed to condemn Fulani herdsmen terrorist attacks in the East while swiftly supporting the terrorists when faced with resistance.

The press statement from IPOB underscores the movement's commitment to defending Eastern communities from terrorist threats while condemning the NEF's alleged duplicity in addressing security challenges in the region.
