In a decisive operation, security forces have dealt a significant blow to the criminal underworld, eliminating the notorious bandit leader, Dogo Gide, who was responsible for a string of violent attacks, including the shooting down of a military helicopter.
According to reports from Announce TV, Dogo Gide met his demise from gunshot wounds sustained during a fierce encounter with Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) forces. The confrontation unfolded amidst the rugged terrain of the Madada forest within the Maru local government area on March 12, 2024.
Despite sustaining severe injuries, Dogo Gide was covertly transported to a hospital in Mabera, Sokoto, Sokoto State, where he ultimately succumbed to his wounds. His demise marks the end of a reign of terror that had plagued the region for far too long.
The infamous fugitive, Dogo Gide, known for his involvement in a myriad of heinous crimes, was laid to rest in Dandalla Village on March 24, marking the conclusion of a chapter marred by violence and instability.
However, revelations surrounding Dogo Gide's hospitalization have raised troubling questions about potential collusion within the security forces. An investigation is underway into allegations that a detained security official facilitated his admission to the medical facility, casting a shadow of doubt over the integrity of the operation.
Nonetheless, the successful elimination of Dogo Gide stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment and collaborative efforts of the Nigerian security forces, particularly the coordinated actions of 1 Division and 8 Division of the Nigerian Army.
Dogo Gide's extensive criminal record spans involvement with ANSARU and other notorious terrorist organizations, cementing his reputation as a formidable threat to peace and stability in the region. He has been directly implicated in numerous atrocities, including the brazen shooting down of a military helicopter in the Dansadau-Birmin Gwari region and the abduction of innocent students from the Federal Government College Yauri.
