In a recent statement released by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, the Nigerian Police Force has once again made significant strides in the ongoing battle against crime and criminality across the country.
The Federal Intelligence Department - Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) achieved a commendable feat in their relentless pursuit of criminals, particularly kidnappers plaguing regions such as Abuja, Kaduna, Kogi, and Nasarawa states. In the early hours of February 8, 2024, IRT operatives conducted a decisive operation at a hideout near Gitata, along the Keffi Gidan Wire Road in Nasarawa State, resulting in the neutralization of notorious kidnappers and gunrunners.
The operation, meticulously planned and executed, led to the recovery of four AK47 rifles, alongside other dangerous weapons and a substantial cache of ammunition. These criminals, who were eliminated, were also implicated in supplying arms to bandits operating within the same geographic area, exacerbating security challenges.
The successful raid, conducted with precision and resolve, underscores the unwavering commitment of the Nigerian Police Force to safeguarding the lives and properties of citizens. Such operations are pivotal in cleansing communities of criminal elements, restoring peace, and upholding law and order nationwide. The NPF reaffirms its dedication to employing all necessary measures to eradicate criminal activities and maintain the safety and security of the populace.
