In a decisive operation conducted in the early hours of February 9, 2024, the Nigeria Police Force Intelligence Bureau – Intelligence Response Team (FIB-IRT) successfully neutralized several notorious kidnappers, including their kingpin Musa Wada (Sabo) Magaji, in Mpape, Abuja. Led by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, the operation marks a significant victory in the ongoing battle against crime and insecurity in the nation's capital.
Acting on credible intelligence gathered over weeks of surveillance, the FIB-IRT meticulously planned the raid on the kidnappers' hideout, nestled deep within the rugged terrain of Mpape Hills. Under the cover of darkness, the elite team of operatives, armed and equipped for combat, silently approached the camp, ensuring they maintained the element of surprise.
As the crack of dawn illuminated the horizon, chaos erupted within the criminal stronghold as the police assault began. The kidnappers, caught off guard by the swift and decisive action of law enforcement, scrambled for their weapons, but their resistance was futile against the well-trained and coordinated police operatives.
