Amidst rising concerns over the security situation in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), particularly in Kuje and Bwari Area Councils, alarming reports reveal the existence of known kidnappers' camps such as Tukuba Forest in Kuje and Kuyeri Village Mountain in Bwari. These areas, bordering Kagarko Local Government and Nasarawa, have become hotspots for criminal activities.

Recent incidents include the tragic case of the late Hon. Dara's family, who paid a ransom of 3 million just yesterday. The perpetrators, using the phone numbers 08058942743 and 08112177295, have been demanding ransoms from kidnapped victims' families in Pegi community, Gaube Ward of Kuje Area Council. Notably, a substantial sum of 2 million was paid last week in Kuje.

The last two weeks have seen a surge in kidnappings, with over 200 reported cases in Bwari Area Council, Kuje Area Council, and neighboring communities in Tafa and Kagarko Local Governments. Bandits have unleashed terror, leaving residents in a state of vulnerability and fear.

The narrative highlights the alleged role of the government in exacerbating insecurity, citing concerns about the occupation of grazing reserves in Kawu Ward (Bwari), Karshi through Kuje axis, Gwagwalada, and Kwali. The claim suggests a deliberate attempt to create chaos and displacement.

The urgent need for the FCT Youth Stakeholders Forum to unite and address the escalating crisis is emphasized. Allegedly, bandits from Zamfara and Katsina have infiltrated the grazing reserves, posing a significant threat to the security of the FCT. A victim from Kawu Ward reports the alarming recruitment of more criminals from Zamfara to Abuja.

The call to action comes from Garkuwan Abuja, Nehemiah Zaka, urging collective efforts across religious and tribal lines to secure the FCT. Specific incidents, such as the recent kidnapping of an entire family from Zuma 1, underscore the gravity of the situation, emphasizing the need for immediate political solutions to prevent a bleak future.

As the FCT grapples with a surge in criminal activities, this narrative calls for unified efforts and proactive measures to safeguard the region's residents from the looming threat of insecurity.
