In a bold statement from Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi, Head of the Revolutionary Committee in Yemen, a strategic call has been made to ministries of transport worldwide and global shipping companies navigating the Red Sea, Arabian Sea, and Bab al-Mandab. The crux of the message lies in a straightforward declaration for ships passing through these crucial maritime routes: "We have no relationship with 'israel.'"
Al-Houthi articulates that this seemingly simple phrase represents a significant step in safeguarding against perceived pressure and potential blackmail from the United States and Britain concerning maritime insurance costs. In his words, this declaration is a cost-effective measure that will avoid financial impositions on shipping companies.
The revolutionary leader emphasizes the importance of transparency and accountability in maritime activities. He urges vessels to make this declaration, underlining that it is not only a measure to prevent blackmail but also a means to ensure honest and clear navigation.
"If the ships declare this phrase and then deceive and head to the ports of the occupied Palestinian lands to supply the Zionist entity, put them on the blacklist," warns Al-Houthi, highlighting the need for consequences for any deceptive actions. He directs this cautionary note to the Yemeni Ministry of Defense, urging them to take measures against vessels found violating the declared commitment.
Al-Houthi underscores the broader purpose behind preventing ships from supplying the "israeli" entity. He asserts that the Yemeni Armed Forces' actions aim to stop "israeli" terrorist aggression and break the siege on Gaza. Alleging that those hindering these efforts indirectly support racial genocide in Gaza, he singles out Americans, British, and others as complicit in this stance.
This proposed declaration, as per Al-Houthi, does not seek to militarize the Red Sea nor harm international navigation. On the contrary, he believes it to be a confidence-building measure that discourages exploitation by external powers and coalition militarization. He contends that this approach allows ships to continue their routes peacefully, eliminating the need for detours around the Cape of Good Hope.
In conclusion, Al-Houthi's statement advocates a diplomatic, transparent, and cost-effective approach to safeguard Yemeni interests.
