Hamas Calls for Ending Aggression and Occupation in Palestinian Territories

By Mohammed Bello Doka

Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, has strongly criticized the United States for its unwavering support of the Zionist occupation, citing it as a cause for the unprecedented atrocities and war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza. Haniyeh's statements come amidst renewed visits by the US Secretary of State to the region.

Expressing hope that Mr. Blinken has learned from past mistakes, Haniyeh urged for a shift in focus towards ending the ongoing aggression, marking it as a crucial step towards liberating all Palestinian territories from occupation.

Haniyeh also called upon leaders in Arab and Islamic countries engaging with the US Secretary of State to emphasize the inseparable connection between the Palestinian cause and the stability of the region. He underscored that neglecting this issue would jeopardize the future stability of the entire region.

Emphasizing the resilience of the Palestinian people and their unwavering resistance, Haniyeh stressed that their struggle for freedom and the establishment of an independent sovereign state, with Al-Quds as its capital, remains non-negotiable. He highlighted that peace and stability would continue to elude the region until Palestinians attain their full rights and freedom from occupation.
