By Mohammed Bello Doka

In a strategic move to combat terrorism and kidnapping in the Northwest and Northcentral regions of Nigeria, the Air Component of Operation Whirl Punch executed a successful strike, eliminating a notorious syndicate in Kaduna State.

Acting on intelligence regarding the movement of the syndicate along the Kwiga-Kampanin Doka axis in Birnin Gwari LGA, the Air Component targeted the criminals responsible for the recent ambush on troops and numerous attacks and abductions in the region. A meticulous scan revealed a convoy of 15 motorcycles, each carrying at least two armed terrorists. The terrorists were traced to a gathering point and swiftly neutralized in a precision strike.

The aftermath of the operation confirmed the elimination of several terrorists, marking a significant victory in the ongoing battle against criminal elements. Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff, commended the professionalism of the operation's crew while emphasizing the need for sustained efforts in the relentless pursuit of peace and security. Abubakar stated, "While this does not call for celebration on our part, I must commend the professionalism of the crew for patiently trailing the criminals until an appropriate opportunity to strike presented itself. We must keep pushing and striving."
