In a distressing turn of events, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Gombe State has apprehended a 27-year-old suspect, Segun Bulus, for allegedly carrying out an arson attack on four houses in the Dele Jesu community, Balanga Local Government Area.
NSCDC Commandant, Muhammad Muazu, revealed that the devastating arson incident has left several families homeless, highlighting the severity of the situation.
The motive behind the attack, as explained by Commandant Muazu, stemmed from a misunderstanding between the suspect and a relative of the victim. The fallout resulted in the destruction of properties, displacing families and causing immense distress within the community.
Commandant Muazu affirmed the commitment of the NSCDC to ensuring justice, stating, "As soon as the investigation is completed, the suspected will be taken to court to face the wrath of the law." This underscores the gravity of the offense and the determination of the authorities to hold the perpetrator accountable for the significant disruption caused.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for conflict resolution and peaceful dialogue to prevent such destructive actions, emphasizing the importance of community cohesion in fostering a secure environment for all residents.
