On seeing those pictures and videos of former Osun State governor Rauf Aregbesola in a pitiful dance of shame with Governor Ademola Adeleke, two or three things came to my mind, even as I heaved a sign of shock and disbelief, and grief for Ogbeni Aregbesola.
The first: we overrated Baba Kabiru and we did not know. We felt Aregbesola was given to higher ideals and had high intelligence quotient. We were wrong. We simply did not take note: Aregbe himself is a glorified dancer like Ademola Adeleke. As governor for 8 years, state events were more of dance than substance. Aregbe is not made of sterner stuffs or ever able to deploy emotional intelligence in response to issues and developments.
Ogbeni and Adeleke are the same: birds of the same feather flocking together. So we should not be surprised at all at their joint displays. That is number one.
The second one flows from the first. Because they are of the same breed, they have been meeting and conspiring together against former Osun governor Adegboyega Oyetola long before the last governorship election and the election tribunal and appeal sittings. The dance after the appeal court judgement only betrayed their shenanigans. So it's now apparent that Aregbe went in romance with the PDP, it's presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Ademola Adeleke and his brother Deji Adeleke just to even scores with Oyetola and of course with President-elect Asíwájú Tinubu, his erstwhile benefactor, who took him form the gutters and cleaned him up. How sad and shameful!
Ogbeni has proven to be a traitor. But mark my words:
traitors don't have good records in life, they don't end well either. They end miserably, and even in death, they will continue to be on the bad side of history! The list is long. But let me not bore you with the traitors in Nigeria and beyond and how they end up pitiably miserably.
Please let us learn from Aregbesola's life of infamy and his imminent ignominious end!
