It has been confirmed by two independent sources very close to the President that the Central Bank Governor Mr. Godwin Emefile dished out wrong figure in oder to deceptively influence the President's decision regarding the time frame for the collection of old new naira notes.
While briefing the President Mr Emefile erroneously ans intentionally misled the President by saying the CBN has printed enough Naira notes to ensure smooth execution of the currency swap program.
In contrasts it was revealed by both the Presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale and the Kaduna State governor that the said statement was misleading to say the least.
Only yesterday Mallam Nasir Elrufai told BBC Hausa that they brought it to the notice of Mr. President that the Central Bank has mopped up 2 trillion Naira of the old notes so far but has only printed a paltry N300 billion Naira of the new notes. The want to use N300b to complete a swap of N2T which is the major caused of the currency shortage.
Similarly the same yesterday Mr. Ngelale said on a national television that Mr. Emefile Misled the President by telling him that the CBN has printed enough Naira notes to complete the process.
Having established a clear case of deliberate lies and misleading the number one citizen and Nigerians we want to know if there will be penalties or everyone can misled the President and cause unnecessary hardship to Nigerians and get away with it.
