Why Is Brymo Trending?

A popular Nigerian Musician Brymo  has been trending for  good or bad reasons, depending on which angle one views the event.

Recently social media was set ablaze by a tweet from the popular musician when he tweeted racial slurs against the Igbos apparently out of anger and frustration.

Ever since the popular musician endorsed the candidacy of former Lagos state governor Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and called him the city boy, the nickname that has become a slogan across the length and breadth of Nigeria he has became a subject of redicule, insult and abuse by the obidients.

This draws a lot of condemnations from the Igbos and non Igbos alike and send the supporters of the Labor Party Presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi also known as the obidient movement a movement that comprises of over 85% Igbo's on a revenge mission against Brymo with many threatening violence and trowing similar or even worst slurs in the process.

The incident has lead the Obidients to start so many movements trying to stop the musician from either winning an award or to get him banned from one contest, group and contract etc.

On the other hands supporters of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and those of former vice President Atiku Abubakar presidential candidates of APC and PDP respectively who have suffered worst than the Brymo abuse from the Obidient movement seems to be enjoying the show and even openly supporting the musician thus adding fuel to the fire and or salt to the injury.

Regardless of the motivations and or the motive behind the slur two wrongs can never make right and it's an condemnable act to generalise and abuse a whole tribe even for the crime of the majority.

But first things first, where did we start and how did we get here to a situation where an insult will be celebrated and even catapult someone to the status of a  super hero overnight?

Obidient has been a very abusive and hostile movement to begin with, right from the beginning of their evolution from a Biafra secessionist movement to a political pressure group, the movement has been  know to be very violent, abusive and hostile.

They insult anyone that hold any contrary opinion, they termed the Hausa Fulani's as Ewu-sa ( Ewu - goat) Foolanis, Janjaweed, Boko Haram and they insult everything and everyone that's seems to show a bit of sympathy or even call them to oder, they insult everything the Hausa Fulani's hold dear even their religious beliefs, their scholars , their culture has become subject of mockery and redicule by the ipob cum obidients, but why? Simply because Buhari a Fulani man defeated Jonathan whom they see as one of them in an election, even when Jonathan has accepted the result of the elections and moved on.

Then come the Yoruba's whom the Obidients tagged Foolani slaves for refusing to join them in the campaign of calumny against the Hausa Fulani's. The Yoruba's were not speared, they were berated, insulted and abused for making a political decision to team up with the Hausa North which brings a Northerner to power, the decision that saw the Yoruba's winning a presidential ticket a the ruling party for the first time in their history ( not a bad decision logically), but the obidients forgot  those who have been in alliance with the North since Independent to be heaping insults on the Yorubas.

Let me cite a few example of reported Obidients bullying here for the records, on October 8, 2022 in an article by vanguard titled " Peter Obi supporters defaming me" the APC presidential candidate complains of cyber bullying the obidients, similarly on  4th, December, 2022 a PDP chieftain Reno Omokri raised a claim to life protest published by legit.ng.

15th  of August , 2022 the popular skit maker aka Mr. Macroni raises alarm over threats for not supporting a particular candidate which the whole country fingered obidients even though Mr. Macaroni is scared to say who is tormentors were.

13, August, 2023 the not so careful Afro beat super star raised alarm that the obidients are threatening to burn down the African shrine as reported by premium time, Naira land amongst other media houses. The list can go on on describing how people suffer bullying physically, emotionally and psychologically from the hands of the so called obidient movement.

Little wonder when Brymo tweeted that slur against the Igbos rather than obidients and or the Biafran hordes he found a widespread support from a number of Nigerians who have been victims of the obidient Bully and propaganda machines. Many saw it as a time to pay the obidients in their own coin.
