The real story is that the Naja’atu saga arose from a questionable request Naja’atu placed to the Tinubu Campaign Committee of five hundred million Naira (N500,000,000) on behalf of her directorate without detailed breakdown and clarification for due process and transparency. She suddenly decided to fly to London when Asiwaju was on a visit and met him and presented to him a request to give approval of above-mentioned amount for her committee but he did not accede to her request saying he will prefer to discuss the request with other members of the committee on his return to Nigeria.
Asiwaju being an accountant is always strict on financial prudence. Hajiya Naja’atu being not a team player and already had issues with other members of the PCC to the extent that there are many petitions against her requesting for her dismissal for various reasons.
Upon investigation, the PCC confirmed the veracity of the petitions and complaints against her and therefore management met and recommended for her immediate dismissal from the PCC. Consequently, the committee after deciding on her dismissal wrote a letter to her conveying to her the decision of the committee. The letter was delivered but she refused to sign for it, so it was dropped in the office she used. The PCC then decided to find other resourceful hands available and decided to look for a vibrant APC competent loyalist with necessary expertise to carry on with her job. Na'ajatu having a hint of the deliberation of the committee, hurriedly decided to write a letter of resignation to save face. The PCC did not make the letter public to protect her dignity, but with the controversy trailing her dismissal and purported resignation, it has become imperative to make the content of the letter available to all and end this matter once and for all.
